Welcome to Hopney Moffett!

We're an eight piece outfit in the Lockyer Valley, that works along the lines of an all-in-one cake mix. (Nuts included, thank you very much!)

Recipe:

Ingredients: A lead guitarist (Ben), one bass player (Rick), a pianist (Clare), a drummer (Nick), three other vocalists (Aisling, Sharon and Andy), and a multitalented all instruments man who can play anything we give him (Paul).

Method: We employ a range of different musical styles: Jazz, Funk, Rock, Pop, Folk, and fuse them together to create our sound. Everyone usual talks at once when this is happening.

We like to think that our music/our show brings both joy, awareness and the key to happiness in a world with some serious issues. It's a big call but the KISS principle is at the core of our music and our hearts.

Hopney Moffett music is uplifting, catchy and leaves you feeling lighter. Good old fashion songs full of hooks amid melodies and rhythms that you'll find yourself singing along to within seconds.

This then leads me to the one rule we have applied to our music: "It's got to be fun and/or beautiful". Cause if it's fun, not only do the audience enjoy it but we do too and if not fun then beautiful, something that will touch the heart and soul.

It's the same with the album cover. The frog has an effect on everyone who sees it and if not - check their pulse!

Where did the name, Hopney Moffett come from?

The band has been together for just under two years and along the way we experimented with a few names finally coming up with what has become the name that actually sounds like our music - light, happy, free...

Our name is in fact a derivation of a friend's name who shall remain - nameless!
